First Line Therapy
Here at the CD Whyte Ridge Pharmacy we are currently promoting a new Therapeutic Lifestyle Change (TLC) program called First Line Therapy.
The purpose of this program is to help prevent many chronic health problems before they become more serious. Worldwide this is part of a growing trend and many Doctors are now using TLC programs as the first step in preventing and preventing conditions like:
• Alzheimer’s disease
• Arthritis
• Cardiovascular disease
• Diabetes
• Heart disease
• High blood pressure
• High blood sugar
• High cholesterol
• Osteoporosis
• Stroke
These programs are also supported by medical institutions, as I mentioned in the November 2007 Newsletter; even the United States Centre for Disease Control actively supports the creation of TLC programs:
“In 2002 the Healthy People Curriculum Task Force was
established with the mission of fulfilling objective 1-7 of
Healthy People 2010 (2,4), to “increase the proportion of
schools of medicine, schools of nursing, and other health
professional training schools whose basic curriculum includes
the core competencies in health promotion and disease
prevention.”
