Palliative Care

Palliative Care is the term used for the physical and psychological aspects of the final days leading up to the death of a patient. Palliative Care involves a variety of separate elements such as bereavement support and Pain Management. The role of Palliative Care is to respectfully maximize the quality of life of the patient and their family as the end approaches. The desired goal throughout the process is to celebrate life and treat death as a normal, unavoidable end.

At CD Whyte Ridge we have several pharmacists who have taken the Palliative Care course offered by the Learning Centre for Palliative Care of the Victoria Hospice Society, a nationally renowned program. There the focus is to provide medical, emotional and spiritual care, not only for the patient but for family members as well. Here at CD Whyte Ridge this is the focus that we bring to every case in which we are involved.

Private consultations with our specially trained pharmacists can be arranged by phone at (204) 488-1819 or by email.
